EVERYDAY WINE PICK: Bogle Vineyards | Petite Sirah | California | 2010 | $10 (or less)

Fruit-forward, medium-bodied, and smooth-as-silk, with aromas and flavors of dried dark fruit, cocoa, vanilla, and a touch of black licorice, finishing with a subtle note of toasty oak.  Bogle’s Petite Sirah is always worth a try from vintage to vintage; it’s an affordable (often discounted) crowd-pleaser with a splash of sophistication.  The 2010 is a bit lighter than in vintages past, but nevertheless pleasant.  The 2009 was among the best in years, so if you can find that vintage buy it!  Good with hearty meat dishes, stews, barbeque, and party fare.  For a little more information about this wine, click here:  Bogle PS.
