PICK of the RACK: Antonin Rodet | Château de Rully | Premier Cru | Rully AOC | Burgundy | France | 2011 | $30 | 90 pts

Chateau de RullyFrom the Clos la Bressande vineyard in the Rully AOC (appellation d’origine contrôlée) of Burgundy comes this elegant Chardonnay, offering aromas of white peach, orange blossom, and wet stone layered with flavors of nectarine, banana, and marzipan with hints of tarragon and dried pineapple on the long, luscious finish.  The wine is Medium-bodied with spirited acids and subtly integrated oak, and the palate is velvety smooth.  It comes across as fresh and versatile, and would serve well with a variety of soft ripe cheeses, chilled seafood, and fruit tarts.  A pleasing alternative to New World Chardonnay and a sound value for Premier Cru Burgundy. Visit Antonin Rodet virtually at  www.rodet.com for more information about their wines.  We found this bottling at our local Total Wine location, and it is available at many of their stores nationwide (www.totalwine.com).
